The Beauty of North Wales
Take an easy walk along the towpath of The Llangollen Canal or through the bustling, historic town of Llangollen. This beautiful town boasts a steam railway, horse-drawn canal boat trips, historic buildings including the Castle and the Abbey, white-water canoeing and spectacular walks for all ages and abilities. Just a short distance along the canal in the other direction is the most dramatic sight on the whole of the UK’s canal system, Thomas Telford’s Pontcysyllte Aqueduct carries the canal over a distance of 1000 feet at a height of 126 feet over the valley below. (Boat trips over the
aqueduct are available)
Spectacular scenery, mountains, waterfalls, cascading rivers, canals, horse-drawn boats, steam railways, slate mines, ancient history, industrial history, historic buildings, excellent walks for all ages and fitness are just some of the delights that await you. North Wales also has a spectacular coastline and it is all so easily accessible using our hotel as a base. As well as hosting The International Eisteddfod every July, Llangollen is also the festival capital of Wales with events at The Royal Pavilion throughout the year.

We list just a few of the local attractions here, but in the residents lounge we carry a huge range of free information leaflets covering places and events all over North Wales. All are within easy travelling distance of The Bryn Howel. We also have an arrangement with the exceptional Llangollen Golf Club if you wish to enjoy a game during your stay.
